Like Heaven

The weather, that is, like heaven. We're all waiting for the pollen count to drop, but this cool air is wonderful. I love this time of year with the colors and all. It makes me all dreamy. I start feeling like Maeve acts most of the time when she's not on an order. Then she's a different woman--all business and efficiency. It's a marvel. Then when the restaurant is quiet, she becomes Maeve again. I mean, she goes into some other world like she's riding cross country with Jay Lee in the semi he drives.

Well, G.I. Bridge was real let down that he had to drop football because his ankle just never came back to where it should be. Coach offered him team assistant manager, but G.I. says it just isn't the same as being on the bench. Well Edna is always looking toward improving morale so she asked G.I. did he want to learn baking. He got all excited about that. Didn't think a 16 year old boy would be excited about that, but this job always surprises me. I guess first lesson is going to be our county famous cornbread. We usually serve that on Wednesdays except when we don't. I think G.I.'s debut is next week. Edna says he needs some orientation. and I don't know what that's about. We'll see.

Thanks for stopping in.
Jenn
