Afternoon Everyone:
The noon crowd was thinner today because of the holiday. There was such a mix up over who was open and who wasn't that some people stayed home to avoid the whole problem. Jill & G.I. said they had a half day off. The school board shrank down all the classes to 25 minutes. Then anyone who wanted a Columbus Day or a Native American Day could have one in the afternoon. I don't understand how those guys think, you know.
Well, it was wild--at least Sunday after church. Remember I said about how there was "contention" over which church was going to have the first Sunday in October Apple Pie Day? They solved it. All four Lutheran churches went in on one Apple Pie Day Festival and they held it in the middle of the street here, just outside the door. Rerouted traffic and everything. People wondered if we'd object because it might hurt business. Edna said, "Not a bit." Guess we caught the overflow crowd.
Mr. Edward T. Slurry was in this weekend too. That's Edna's husband. They have a kind of long distance relationship because he travels so much with his circus, the one Edna retired from. Anyway, he said the menus were looking kind of worn and did we think we might replace them any time soon. Actually he said it a bit more, shall we say, colorfully than that, and so I'm collecting some samples. Jill thought it was interesting because she's never been in on picking real restaurant menus. Heck, I wouldn't want to deny the kid the opportunity so I'm letting her help me.
That's about it for now. Thanks for coming by.
Jenn
