And We're Off!

Merry Christmas Everyone:

The noon rush was crazy today because a lot of places here quit at noon, a few more at one. So this is our first Christmas crowd. We're open now through tomorrow evening when the restaurant on the highway takes over for the night. They're gonna quit at about three this afternoon after the coffee break crowd is done. Everything's about on schedule here, baking, cooking, salt and pepper all filled. We had to make one menu change. The ham didn't come in so we're serving turkey ham. Only one change? That's not so bad this time of year, you know. At least we've got lots of coffee and hot water.

Then there's that other thing with my ex. He asked me this morning if he could move back in with me, but under one condition, that I marry him. Marry him!!! Then he takes out my old engagement ring that he held onto when he left. I was so darn angry I gave it back to him. Anyway, he takes out my old engagement ring and asks me would I wear it again.

I said, I um, I don't know but I musta said yes cause it's back on my finger and I don't want to ever take it off again. I said that I never knew my ex was thinking of this. Edna and Maeve giggled and Earl just rolled his eyes. So far it's been a heck of a Christmas already. Guess it's gonna be one whale of a New Year too.
