Tomorrow's Spicial

Good Morning All:

Tomorrow will be our first White Food Wednesday! We're all excited about this. The menu includes mashed potatoes, pork, turkey, cauliflower, sweet butter, angel's food cake, vanilla ice cream, white chocolate and anything else we can think of dressed up with red berries of all kinds and mint leaves for decoration. I don't know how it's going to taste but it will sure look swell.

(Look swell. Does anyone else still say "Swell?")

Over at the high school the industrial arts and engineering students are attempting to build the world's largest snowman. They're allowed to use base supports like hay bales underneath but it has to have lots of snow in the opinion of the judges. There's one tiny problem. We need to have snow! Weather man says we might be in for a brown Christmas--in which case the judges will look at the blue prints of giant snow men.

Downtown merchants said business hasn't never been better. Earl pointed out, that's our Earl Jones, that what they said was a double negative so who knows what they meant. It's busy here.
