Well, for over a week now I've been trying to get out of Edna what the 4th of July menu would be. Or even if there was going to be a 4th of July menu. Sometimes Edna just decides to close for the day, and everyone takes off.
I'm running on a bit here. Edna told me late yesterday that her holiday menu was hot dogs, bake beans, and gourmet potato chips. Where, I wondered, was all of this coming from? Usually Edna gives me the menus and I write the orders. With other supplies, Earl tells me what were low on so it ain't often we have to send Maeve out to the Q & C. No telling what she'll come back with.
Edna just smiled and said not to worry about the food for tomorrow's menu and not to worry about my my job either. Sure enough, early this morning Edward C. Slurry pulls up with a small refrigerator truck. Edna calls & drags Earl out of a sound sleep and the four of us unload. The guy with the buns who blushes a lot delivers later this afternoon.
