Liver & Onions?

You might remember we're still mulling over the menu for Zero Choice Night here at the cafe. The winning entree will be determined all democratically. Edna decides. She's leaning toward liver and onions but was pondering what would go with it when Earl pipes up with kidney bean salad and lettuce hearts. Just a little kitchen humor here, Readers. Maeve said we should have potatoes O'Reilly. I think she means O'Brien. That's potatoes with butter and parsley, but I think Edna wants to keep it all on the grill. What's the good of having one entree if you use every pot and pan in the place to cook it. Maeve said she thought this was supposed to be an adventure in eating not a way to cook on the cheap.

We all just turned and looked at Maeve. She just never makes remarks like that. I think that Edna's going to try a test run on the LO &GP, as we're starting to call it. We'll see. Probably wind up serving ravioli. With Edna you never know, but stay tuned and thanks for stopping in. It's quiet here on summer Sunday afternoons. With county fair next weekend, we might just even close after dinner.

I would suggest Potatoes O'Gratin as a possible side dish.
