The Stew

It was busy in here this morning. Busy? It was outright chaos. We had a tour bus, or at least half a tour bus. The other half went to the co-op restaurant on the highway. Anyway, I didn't get to the blog because we had a super rush. That's the regular crowd and more.

And I'm still a little stiff from yesterday's practice. I'm in the novice class of the boccie league and boy did they put us through a workout. Who ever thought you had to do push ups and laps to play boccie. They're very competitive. Now I ache all over but at least Edna's off my back about spending my entire life in the cafe. The boccie league has a deal going with the curling club so that after our season is over, we switch sports to curling. The curling club hasn't had the best luck in town here. Usually someone in the club winds up in the lake or stuck in somebody's ice fishing hole.

Oh, the stew? That's for the primary election tomorrow. As a rule we don't talk politics in the cafe, but Edna says we can still exploit the occasion, and so she's in back whipping up what she calls melting pot stew and I have no idea what she's going to put in it. Fair starts this week so we gotta get the hot dog wagon out there ASAP to feed crews and sidewalk superintendents that happen by. Sure hope we've got enough mustard.

Well, time for another epsom salt soak. Thanks for stopping by.
