What Maeve's Reading

Hello Reader Guests:

I know. You didn't think Maeve read anything but Barn & Yard Magazine, but I'm here to correct the impression. Just yesterday morning she was bubbling over about this book she's been reading called Ahab: The Crazy Captain. It's one of those as told by things. According to Maeve this is the true story that Moby Dick told to some reporter at a Hearst paper, or maybe Moby told it to one of his offspring who told it to, well, you get the point. According to the story, Moby Dick had just had it with these silly little critters stabbing him in the side with  pointy little sticks. So one day Moby Dick just lets the whole mess of them have it. He claims they weren't even edible after all that too.

You know what really bothers me? Sometimes I'm not too sure Maeve understands this is all fiction. I mean she's a little flighty, sure, but could she really think...? Oh never mind. Maybe I don't want to now the truth.

This move to Tuesday is working really well for me. Edna gave me last Sunday off so yesterday I had a pile of receipts to go through. That's fine because Larry and I went off to the park for a picnic and to feed the mosquitoes. Had a great and itchy time. Well, it's slowed down for a while. Maybe I'll slip out to the back "patio" (more like a loading dock) with coffee and a newspaper.

Thanks for coming by and hope to see you next week.

Jenn
