Real Autumn

Hi Readers:

When I say real autumn, I mean, it's the trees and soybeans turning and we're doing a special on donuts and apple cider Saturdays for football games. Our part time waitress Jill started back for her last year at Loon Central High and Edna's given her strict guidelines for recruiting a replacement waitress for after Jill graduates. No word yet on what Jill's going to do but lately she's been wearing a U of Minnesota sweatshirt. It's always fun to see where the kids are going from here.

Then there's G.I. Bridge, Arthur's nephew. That's George Irwin Bridge and he's taking more classes on commercial baking. Wants to perfect some special line of sweet rolls and maybe take over the store next door for a bakery. He plans a walk through to the cafe. All we need now is like maybe The New York Times lying around. Edna said that would either make our reputation or totally destroy it. Maeve thinks our official magazine should be Barn and Garden.

"Didn't think needed an official magazine around here," grunts Edna. But then when isn't Edna grunting?

Glad you came in today.

Faithfully,
Jenn
