Thanks for stopping in. The big news in Loon County, Minnesota is our record high pollen count. The county agent tried to tell George Frey there was no future in growing ragweed commercially, but honestly, you can't tell some guys anything. Meanwhile, it seems like just every honey bee what's been turned loose anywhere has decided to live in George Frey's ragweed field.
There's going to be another floating picnic on Center Lake this weekend for Labor Day. The rescue squad won't have off, that's sure. Now those of you who have been reading along might remember that the restaurant is usually open non stop through holidays when there are lots of stray, hungry people cruising around. "Not this time," says Edna. The whole slew of us is heading to the Cities for the State Fair or the Renaissance Festival or something. Edna thought we could all just carpool up for the weekend and so we got a small caravan of tents and campers and a friend of Mr. Edward C. Slurry has a place we can lite down overnight. Sonny and her boy friend Taylor are coming with Maeve and Jay Lee making sure there's no hanky panky. Edna thought it would be swell to have some fun with the kids what with school starting on Tuesday. They're still willing to be seen with us.
Then next week, Arthur Bridge is bringing in his nephew--or is it grandson--G.I. as a new trainee. That's Greg Irvin Bridge and they call him Grid Iron cause he's built strong and we love nicknames around here. Some day I might even get myself one, but for now, have a good week, and I remain faithfully,
Jenn
