Good Morning Gang:
As Edna sometimes says--since almost no-one always says anything--"Nippy weather menus at this venue." That's just Edna's way with words. Since she's the cook, she gets to have her way. The weather is all the talk around here since Joe Zingar had a touch of snow on the roof of his barn by this morning. Earl thinks Joe had a touch of something that was not precipitation last night so he's seeing snow this morning.
Alright but it is chilly here and for a change we're not running a contrary menu. Today will be mac and cheese and tomato soup on special and it isn't even Friday, is it? Cause that's a Friday menu, isn't it? Maeve assures me that times have changed and that it's OK to serve mac and cheese with tomato soup in the middle of the week. "Throw in a half a ham sandwich on the side with the soup instead of the the mac if it makes you feel better," says Edna. She's usually not that conciliatory about my old-fashioned notions, as she puts it.
The Loon High Wings are playing a home game this evening so we'll be out there with the hot dog wagon at the ball field too. Edna said to add a few gallons of chili that I'll pull from back of the freezer. And this time I'll remember the crackers. Always got to have crackers with the chili. I forgot them once and nobody in town will ever let me live it down. Whenever they see chili, or think they see chili, they yell, "Hey Jenn, you got the crackers!" Very funny.
Well, glad you came on by. Don't pack away the ear muffs and scarves just yet I guess.
Faithfully,
Jenn
