Sunday Night, Quiet Night

So, Maeve and Jay Lee took off yesterday with a truckload of something and headed east. Maybe they really will go to the Smithsonian. Jay's delivering this trailor to a transfer depot outside of DC and then they'll go see the sights. Think he was hauling ice cream. Maeve looked just as happy as a bride in the surrey with the strings attached. There was a song like that in a musical once. Edna's fretting that Maeve will start to like trucking more than waitressing and where would Edna be without Maeve.

It isn't the Arthur Bridge ain't working out. Maeve gave him the basic training concluding with a multiple choice test on cafe procedures that Art passed with a 94%. How Maeve came up with a waitress exam none of us can figure. Today Art showed up right on time wearing a white shirt, black tie, and service towel over his left arm. Well, pants too but I didn't thin it was necessary to say so. All Edna said was, "Well, I'll be"

Someone mentioned foreign affairs and Edna said that foreign affairs was anything happened out that door (pointing). "Here is strictly for domestic matters," she says. We don't argue with Edna usually and never when she has That Look.
