The Big Cheese (And such)

G'Afternoon:

The "and such" is about that sledge hammer Earl was using to bust up the ice in back. He comes in through the back and announces it's the sledge hammer that's busted! That sledge hammer was friends with the hammer that killed John Henry, if you ask me. It came as a surprise that it was broken till Earl explained it was the handle that snapped. Here I was picturing pieces of iron or whatever scattered all over so you'd need a huge magnet to get them all. Edna gave me one of "those looks" that said, "Put it on the shopping list." Earl said there was no need, he's just run out to Farm & Silo right away. Hope he don't get stuck in the ice.

Oh, the cheese? Milk truck got stalled here on account of weather so everyone in town who could, bought some. Edna asked Earl how many clean barrels we had (4) and to take two of them and buy some of that raw milk. Then she goes into the back room, locks the door, closes the blinds, and fishes her recipe book out of the safe. At least that's my guess of what happened; I never saw that recipe book. Maybe only Mr. Edward T. Slurry has. I guess that's what happened because she emerges from her like inner sanctum with some notes. When Earl got back with the barrels, she proceeded to process the milk and the end result? We got a whole lot of cheese. We're gonna have lots of macaroni and cheese. Cheese omelets galore!  Good thing Lent's coming.

So, thanks for stopping, stay warm, have a good week.

Sincerely,
Jenn
