The Loon County Snake Search

Well Gang, everyone's invited. Earl says that everyone in the county has an interest in that snake search or you'll find them in your shower stall. Snakes in your shower stall? That sort of has a ring to it, doesn't it. For those of you new to the cafe, let me explain. That mini tornado in the county you might have read about brought down the shed at Frey's place outside of town. The shed was home to his exotic snake collection. George Frey won't say exactly how exotic his collection. Never would say so you can bet when people heard that 45 or so "exotic" snakes got lose in county, oh you betcha people chipped in to catch them. Maeve's friend Ethan (the hawk) was especially interested since he and his lady mate have a full nest.

So, how's the Loon County snake search going? At last count about 85 rounded up and we're having county-wide snake storage problems till George can get around and ID his little friends. Also, he's got to build himself a new habitat. Snakes don't like living in buckets any more than humans do. Habitat? George calls it a herpetarium. OK, herpetarium's a new one on me, but Edna says I don't get out much except when my ex comes for our anniversary dinner, that's the divorce anniversary. We get on lots better this way.

Arthur Bridge is going to bring it to the county commissioners that the snake search might be a theme for an annual festival. It's just dumb enough to work. Well, thanks for stopping in and, in the meanwhile, you might want to be a little careful where you walk if you come here.

As always,
Jenn
