That's what Edna said when Maeve suggested selling soy dogs at the hot dog stand. You know what that means? It means Edna has already given me the go-ahead. I ordered a twenty pound case of soy dogs. We'll keep them under wraps when the Loon County Beef Producers meet. I almost wrote "meat." We're aggressive about not alienating the guests. Of course, the Soy Growers Group will love this. Let's hope they don't come to town on the same day; ketchup fights are not pretty.
The other thing that's happened is the Leif Brothers Leaf Removal Vacuum exhaled all over Main Street on Tuesday. That's at least one good reason I didn't blog that day. We had more leaves than the Library of Congress. Leif Brothers bought coffee and pie for everyone who helped clean up. How do you get leaves from the middle of a street to a restaurant grill? It happened and we're surprised Edna didn't announce a new house specialty. Actually, it was Earl who was fried Tuesday. He considers that grill his baby. Edna said she thought his affection for the grill borders on the unnatural, but Earl is the one who cleans it so I guess he does have a special relationship with it.
We're about stocked for the game tomorrow and Sunny will be with us working the hot dog stand at the LCHS football game. She's all proud of that with her gray sweatshirt embroidered with the cafe name on it and some silver trim. It's a good feeling Maeve has, passing on the tradition of service. Gosh, it's closing time so I'll say good night.
Jenn
