That about explains it. Every time we have a time change, I adjust the clock up front in the dining room and in the back kitchen area. For reasons totally unclear to me except that Earl Jones needs a new watch, he changed the clocks back to where they'd been. By morning the clocks were two hours ahead of where they'd been. By noon, sun time, we had it straightened out. Edna's been muttering about installing radio frequency clocks with signs next to them, "The time's correct. Keep your cotton-pickin' hands off!" We served the menu on schedule because of what Edna calls her invariant nature.
But before that was the Annual Halloween Dreads. As usual, Earl and some buddies sat out back after hours trading fishing stories. It has a kind of deterrent effect Earl claims and Edna supplies the coffee and donuts so she must think so too. The juniors and seniors from the high school set up games and such in the gym for the younger kids in town so it all went pretty well according to the sheriff's office. Then there was the election night concession by the town hall. Maeve and Jay Lee were out there with the hot dog stand. Oh, and Maeve's niece Sunny. We would have given her the night off to go over to the gym, but she thinks hanging around with the high school crowd is "Like, so yesterday." Now she's a woman on a career path. At a hot dog stand? Well, it's the start of the path, not the end.
Then came the snow (enough said).
End of the week, Edna & I will sit down and go over the Thanksgiving menu details. As always, we'll be open all day Thanksgiving to be with our family and friends.
Thanks for stopping in.
Jenn
